About Sunstone:
Sunstone is a form of quartz and a member of the feldspar minerals. Inclusions of copper, hematite, or goethite between the sunstones crystal layers produce a beautiful iridescence shimmer when the stone is viewed from various angles.
First discovered in Norway, the Sunstone crystal is linked with ancient Norse texts that reference the Vikings using it to navigate the seas. The tiny inclusions were used to catch rays of light from the sun, the GPS of Mother Nature. In the United States, sunstones were discovered by the Native Americans who treasured them. Sunstone has been found in Australia, Canada, China, Congo, India, Mexico, Norway, Russia, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, and parts of the United States.
